This family has had a challenging couple of years. Suddenly widowed just after moving to the valley, the mom is now a full-time nursing student in addition to working to make ends meet. Despite personal health struggles and her family’s grief, you will not meet a more determined, resilient woman. With a strong desire to be self-sufficient, she continually strives to find a way forward with relentless optimism and faith, even in the face of disappointment. Her sons follow their mom’s example of sacrifice for family. When the husband passed away, their oldest son left college to come home and help. His next youngest brother likewise stayed home after high school graduation, and they do what they can to assist with bills and care for their younger siblings with the plan pursue their own schooling when their mom has completed her degree.
